Elena Vargová is a cultural anthropologist and human rights researcher with over fifteen years of experience exploring folklore traditions, living cultural heritage, and the role of historical memory in contemporary societies. Based in Central Europe and conducting extensive field research across diverse regions, she examines how ritual practices, regional identities, and collective memory continue to shape communities - and how globalization, political transformation, and rapid social change can both threaten and unexpectedly strengthen them. Her work combines anthropology, cultural studies, and human rights perspectives to illuminate the lived human dimensions of identity, dignity, and social belonging that cannot be understood through material history alone.
