Aptos APT

Description

Aptos (APT) is a Layer-1 blockchain designed to deliver high scalability, low transaction costs, and secure smart contract execution. Built by former Meta engineers, Aptos is based on the Move programming language, which was originally developed for Meta’s Diem project. The chain uses a parallel transaction execution engine (Block-STM), enabling it to process multiple transactions simultaneously. This design allows Aptos to achieve thousands of transactions per second (TPS), aiming to solve some of the scalability challenges faced by older blockchains like Ethereum.

Launched in October 2022, Aptos quickly attracted attention for its strong technical foundation, high throughput, and developer-friendly ecosystem. It supports DeFi protocols, NFTs, and decentralized applications (dApps), with a growing network of builders and partners. While some critics argue that its initial token distribution favored insiders, Aptos continues to expand as a next-generation blockchain competing with Solana and other high-performance chains. Its goal is to combine speed, security, and usability to bring blockchain technology closer to mainstream adoption.
