Manage credentials, personalize settings, and enhance security to keep full control over your Psyll account.

In emergency situations, such as losing your phone, a device malfunction, accidental app deletion, or being unable to launch it, you might find yourself unable to provide the required 2FA code.

This is why a unique recovery code is generated when you activate 2FA on your account. It acts as a backup key, allowing you to restore account access when the standard authentication method is unavailable.

What is a recovery code?

When you activate 2FA on your account, a unique recovery code is automatically generated. It serves as a backup key that you can use in exceptional circumstances when access to the authenticator app is impossible.

This code:

  • is generated only once when 2FA is activated,
  • allows you to disable 2FA authentication and restore account access,
  • should be saved in a safe place (e.g., in a password manager or physically, on a piece of paper in a safe),
  • works indefinitely - until it is used.

When to use 2FA recovery?

You can start this process if:

  • you lost or damaged the phone where the authenticator app was installed,
  • the app was uninstalled or reset, and the 2FA codes disappeared,
  • you cannot generate a code due to a device malfunction or lack of access to it.

How to recover account access, step by step:

  • Open the login page: https://psyll.com/en-us/login
  • Enter your username or email address associated with the account, then proceed to the next login step.
  • On the 2FA verification screen, select the "Access Recovery" option.
  • Next, click "I don't have access to the authenticator app".
  • In the form that appears, enter your 2FA recovery code.
  • If the code is correct, two-factor authentication will be disabled, and you will be able to log in using only your username and password.
  • After a successful login, we recommend immediately re-enabling 2FA to maintain a high level of security.
Note
If you do not have your recovery code and cannot access the authenticator app, it will be impossible to disable 2FA on your own. In such a situation, you will need to contact our support team and attempt to verify account ownership in the manner indicated by technical support.

Summary

Thanks to the recovery code, you can safely and quickly restore access to your account in case of problems with the authenticator app.

Remember - security starts with you. Save the code in a safe place, take care of your data, and use 2FA to protect your access at the highest level.
