Your Psyll account holds crucial data and lets you manage subscriptions and activities. Because of this, it's vital to protect it from unauthorized access. One of the best ways to do this is with two-factor authentication (2FA).

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an effective way to secure your account. It requires you to enter your password plus a unique, one-time code from an app on your phone. This extra step ensures that even if an unauthorized person has your password, they can't log in without that code, making it significantly harder to compromise your account.

How to turn on 2FA

Turning on two-factor authentication on Psyll is a simple but powerful way to make your account more secure. To get started with 2FA, just follow these step-by-step instructions. Your account will then have an extra layer of protection, making it much harder for unauthorized users to get in, even if they have your password.

  • Sign in to your account and navigate to My Account > Security > Enable authenticator
  • Use a popular authenticator app like Google Authenticator, Authy or Microsoft Authenticator to scan the generated QR code. Alternatively, you can enter the configuration key manually.
  • Once scanned, the app will begin to automatically produce 6-digit verification codes that refresh every few dozen seconds.
  • To finalize the activation, input the current code from the app into the "Confirm your code" field and confirm the modification.

From now on, you will be asked to provide this code every time you log in or perform important operations on your account. This additional security measure minimizes the risk of unauthorized access and protects your data.

How to disable 2FA

If for some reason you decide to turn off two-factor authentication, you can do so in your user panel. Simply go to: My account > Security > Disable authentication.

To deactivate 2FA, the system will ask you to confirm your identity by entering the current six-digit code generated by your authenticator app.

Please remember, however, that disabling this feature lowers your account's security level and exposes it to a greater risk of unauthorized access. We strongly recommend using 2FA at all times to keep your account as secure as possible.

Recovery code

A unique recovery code is generated on your account when you activate two-factor authentication. This is an extremely important security element that acts as a final authentication method in case you lose access to the authenticator app.

If your phone is lost, damaged, or you accidentally uninstall the 2FA application, this code will let you regain access to your account and restore full control of its security.

It is therefore very important to:

  • Keep the recovery code in a safe place, ideally offline, for example, in a safe or on an encrypted storage device.
  • Do not share it with anyone you don't trust, as this code allows you to bypass 2FA security.
  • Always have it available, because without this code, recovering your account in the event of losing the app may be impossible or very difficult.

This ensures that even in difficult situations, you can quickly and safely regain access to your account.

To fully leverage the potential of two-factor authentication and ensure maximum security on the Psyll platform, remember a few important rules:

  • Always store your recovery code in a secure location, inaccessible to third parties.
  • Never share your device or verification codes with unauthorized individuals.
  • Regularly monitor your logins and account settings and immediately report any suspicious activity or unauthorized access attempts to the support team.
