Cybercriminals are constantly developing new tactics to deceive internet users, and one of the most common threats remains phishing emails. These fraudulent messages are designed to look like authentic communication from trusted companies, but their true purpose is to steal your personal information, login credentials, or even your financial details.
Recently, we identified a fake email pretending to be from Psyll. At first glance, it looked legitimate, but in reality, it was a sophisticated phishing attempt. Scams like these are becoming increasingly convincing, which is why we want to give you practical tools to recognize them and protect yourself.
Fake vs. Real Emails - How to Spot the Difference
Phishing emails often mimic the appearance of genuine ones. They may use company logos, familiar layouts, and even imitate the tone of voice. However, there are always subtle but critical details that expose their fraudulent nature.
Official Psyll system emails are only sent from the address: noreply@psyll.com. If you receive an email from any other sender, it is not legitimate.
Here’s what to look for:
Fake email - designed to deceive, often containing urgent calls to action, suspicious links or requests for sensitive information.
Genuine Psyll email - system-generated, always sent from noreply@psyll.com , consistent in design, and containing your personal Correspondence Code (explained below).
How to Protect Yourself
When you receive an unexpected, urgent, or unusual message, always pause before taking action. A moment of caution can prevent serious harm. Check for the following signs:
- Sender’s address - Only trust messages from noreply@psyll.com. Anything else is fake.
- Links inside the email - Hover your cursor over them before clicking. If the link does not lead to psyll.com, it’s suspicious.
- Spelling and formatting mistakes - Fraudulent emails often include typos, awkward language, or inconsistent design.
- Urgency and pressure tactics - Phrases like “Your account will be suspended” or “Immediate action required” are red flags.
If something feels off, do not click, do not reply, and do not share your information. Instead, report the suspicious email directly to us.
Introducing the Psyll Correspondence Code
To make identifying genuine Psyll emails easier, we’ve introduced a new security feature: the Correspondence Code.
This personalized code gives you a reliable way to confirm authenticity. Here’s how it works:
- Log in to your Psyll account.
- Navigate to My account > Security > Correspondence Code.
- Choose your own code (it can be a short word, phrase, or number sequence).
- From now on, every official email from Psyll will include this code.
This simple step gives you an instant way to distinguish between genuine communication and phishing attempts.
Stay Safe Online
Phishing is an unavoidable reality of the digital world, but with awareness and the right security measures, you can stay ahead of scammers.
- Always double-check the sender (noreply@psyll.com).
- Never act in haste because of threats or urgency.
- Use your Correspondence Code as a personal security mar
By staying alert and verifying before you click, you’ll keep your Psyll account - and your personal information - safe. Your security is our top priority.
